-
May I have furniture covered with my on
fabric? (C.O.M. ORDER)
: Customer's own material, or
C.O.M. fabric, may be used. The only restrictions are the fabric
must be of upholstery grade and must be 54 inches wide to accommodate our
patterns. It is best for your fabric to be provided to us in 1
continuous piece, however; you may contact your dealer for more
information. Your dealer can tell you how much fabric you will need
for a particular style by knowing the repeat of your fabric. If
there is no pattern and your yardage is plain C.O.M. it will take less
yardage than a pattern that must be matched. Clayton Marcus can
assume neither responsibility nor liability for durability, tailoring
variation or flammability.

furniture or parts. Can I check the status?

parts order. We have thousands of orders placed each week and we will

-
The tailoring on my furniture is not the
same as the furniture in the dealer's store. Why?
:
All manufactured furniture that is hand made by skilled craftsmen allow for
some tailoring tolerances. Your furniture may not look exactly the same
as what is on the dealers floor. It is the dealer's responsibility to
ensure that your furntiure meets manufacturing specifications before it is
delivered to you. If you have questions regarding any aspect of the
product delivered to you please contact the dealer from whom you purchased your
product.
-
The cushions of my furniture have
flattened. Is this covered under warranty?
:
Only the actual loss of resiliency is covered by the manufacturer's
warranty. This is not to be confused with normal softening and flattening
that will occur in all foam. Clayton Marcus uses the highest quality
cushions provided by industry standards. You will see a rounding effect
at corners and sides and firmness will be reduced as a result of use and
aging. To help maintain the life of your cushions please fluff and turn
your cushions weekly. To review any warranty your may have please contact
your authorized dealer.
-
How do I clean my fabric?
:
To successfully clean fabric, it is important to determine the type of fabric
and the recommended cleaning code. This information can be provided to
you by your dealer. We recommend a professional upholstery cleaner be
contacted. For more information on cleaning codes please visit our
cleaning and care section for fabric on this site.
-
What is pilling, and what are the effects
regarding my fabric?
:
Pilling is a characteristic of many upholstered fabrics and results from excess
fibers coming off the surface. The release of excess fiber results in
small "balls" or "pills" of fiber forming on the surface of the fabric.
This condition is not warranted by the fabric mills because it is not seen to
be a defect. It is simply excess material being released. This is
similar to the "fuzzing" experienced with new carpet or the pilling of a new
sweater. The concern on the part of most consumers is that the fabric is
disintegrating and will ultimately leave a bald area. That is not the
case. As with carpets or sweaters, the pilling will persist until the
excess fiber is gone. The best treatment while this is happening is to
shave the cover with a battery operated furniture or sweater shaver to remove
the pills. This will help restore the look of the cover surface.
This may need to be done more than once or until the pilling diminishes.
Also be aware that hitchhiker fibers may attach to some of the coarser fibers
in your fabric and can make the pilling more severe. It is best to keep
your fabric free of covers such as blankets and other fuzzy throws.
-

fabric combination you select. If you have questions or concerns about

furniture needs service and I have moved away from my dealer or my dealer is
out of business, who do I

the frame against defects for what we consider to be the lifetime of the piece
to the original purchaser only. If you do not have a dealer in your area

My dealer is
charging me for labor to repair my furniture. Isn't this covered under
the warranty?
: It depends on when you
purchased your product and the limitations of the warranty. The
dealer can provide you with information on all warranty issues.
While the dealer, who is the expert in the field, provides service under
the warranty, there may be some additional charges such as trip fees and
or inspection fees that are not covered under the limited warranty.
Please be sure to ask questions in regards to what is covered before
requesting service.
-
Do I still
get a limited lifetime warranty if I purchased furniture in a clearance center
of a store or "as is"?
:
It is always best to ask questions before you purchase under these
circumstances. Many dealers may sell furniture once posed as floor
samples or styles that are no longer produced. they sometimes sell these
products in clearance centers or on an "as is" basis at a significantly reduced
price. This type of sale is not covered under our Limited Lifetime
Warranty. When purchasing this furniture you may be unable to obtain
replacement parts for the item due to a discontinue status on frames or
fabrics. Before you purchase always clarify any questions you may have
with your dealer. an informed buyer is a happy one.
